Jack Becker, Executive Director
Jack is founder and Director of FORECAST Public Artworks, established in 1978. As a public artist and program administrator, Becker specializes in projects that connect the ideas and energies of artists with the needs and opportunities of communities. He has organized more than 70 exhibitions, 50 publications, and numerous special events.

Jack received a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, studying under such artists as Siah Armajani and Andrew Leicester. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he also studied there at Washington University and Webster University as well as the Croydon College of Art and Design in Great Britain. Widely published in the field, he also serves as the managing editor of Public Art Review.


Nichole Goodwell, Designer + Production Manager
A graduate of Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, Nichole’s educational background includes work in the fine arts, film and media studies, and studio art. She coordinates design, production and editing of Public Art Review, manages advertising sales, and provides graphic design support for the organization.


Melinda Hobbs, Program Associate
Melinda completed a self-designed degree at the University of Minnesota titled “Art and Social Change” with an emphasis in Public Art. She has participated as organizer, artist, teacher, even gardener in many community events and exhibitions, including The Red Hot Art Festival, Walker on Wheels, Stevens Square Center for the Arts, HECUA’s “City Arts” Course, May Farms CSA, and various ongoing collaborative projects. For Forecast Melinda combines these experiences to manage the emerging artist grant program, assist with project management, and keep the office somewhat functional.


Kaitlin Frick, Program Assistant
Kaitlin earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Minnesota, where she completed an individualized major focused on art and social change, arts administration, and public art. She also completed minors in social justice and music. An alum of HECUA’s City Arts program, Kaitlin has worked with organizations such as Minnesota Center for Book Arts, Honor the Earth, and the Weisman Art Museum. Kaitlin serves as production assistant and subscriber services coordinator for Public Art Review, coordinates FORECAST’s resource library, and assists with FORECAST’s grant program and consulting services.
